When we opened our doors on the site of the present Standard Bank in Wynberg more than a century ago, we did so with a good measure of civic authority. Both of our founders were prominent members of the community – King was a former mayor of the town and Milward its onetime Chief Constable.
The business thrived as a respected estate agency in the Wynberg area, from the heady days of the 1890s when Wynberg was one of Cape Towns biggest suburbs. The company later incorporated a United Building Society agency, with premises located at what is now the well-known Maynard Mall and shortly thereafter saw the addition of an insurance brokerage. The business has grown into a versatile concern that offers a diverse range of services.
Our current directors, Stephan Carstens, Jeffry Wain and Sean McGuinness oversee the company’s diverse activities with a focus on innovation and growth, while still retaining much of the same family character of the original company.
